To execute or not response
I can't think of many situations where economics and values have collided, but I can tell you what I think about the death penalty and economics as a whole. I think that it is a waste of time and money to give someone the death penalty. If someone is sentenced to life in jail, they are going to end up dying either way, so I think that there should be no death penalty whatsoever, because they may have to wait to be killed, therefore prolonging their death sentence. I think that they should have to sit, think about what they did, and why they did it. They should have to suffer because of the dumb decision that they made instead of taking the easy way out. On the economics side of the spectrum, it is a lot cheaper to imprision someone for life instead of giving them the death penalty because then the government has to pay for something that someone else did.

i definitely agree with you on how a prisoner will die either way; whether it's from capital punishment or a slow death from waiting to be put to death.
ReplyDeletewith our economy in the shape that it's in righ now, we shouldn't be wasting our time killing people- we should put it towards something that'll actually do some good for the world.
